What exactly is Horrify Me?
Horrify Me is a portrait photography studio where we make you look like an iconic horror character for your photo shoot. The different shoot themes can be found here.



How is the horror effect achieved? Is it practical, digital or AI?
Everything is practical. You wear real horror makeup, prosthetics, fake blood, and other messy materials to create your scary look. We keep digital touches to an absolute minimum during the photo editing stage, and we never use AI under any circumstances. There is actually a very detailed page about this topic here.



How many people can come on a shoot?
This number varies depending on the shoot you are doing, but in general the shoots are for 1 - 4 people. The full details of how many people can do the shoots can be found on the price page here.



Can I bring a friend / partner to attend during my shoot?
Yes, you may bring a friend or partner to sit in during your shoot. They will always be made very welcome.



Is it a scary experience?
No, not whatsoever. There are no silly jump scares or pranks. This is a very creative and engaging experience, not a scary experience.



I’ve never modelled for a photo shoot before, does this matter?
Not at all. Many of our clients have never modelled for a photo shoot before, but Horrify Me is excellent at guiding people through the shoot to get great results. No previous experience is required from you.



Do you let kids attend shoots?

What safety is in place if I do a nude shoot?
Some of the themes at Horrify Me allow nudity. Our studio is an extremely safe, professional space for this work. There’s full info here about our conduct and safety, which we recommend you read in full if you have any concerns, but the short version is this: You will not be touched by the photographer; You may bring a friend or chaperone ; We will NEVER shoot anything we consider sexually explicit or pornographic. How many images do I get?
This will vary depending on the theme, how many people are in the shoot, what options you make use of, and so on. We guarantee a minimum of 8 images but you can pretty much ignore this, because we always provide far more than this. We'll give you as many great images as we can. An average solo vampire shoot can result in roughly 12 - 18 images. So, to be clear, there is no set number, but we will always exceed our minimum guarantee of 8 by quite a bit.




Can I have the unused raw photos?
Strictly no. Very few creative photographers will allow this and we are no different. Horrify Me selects all the best images from your shoot, edits them to perfection, and this becomes the set that you get. The unused raw photos are deleted and are never given to clients under any circumstances. Please note we are not being mean, this is industry standard and there are many very good reasons why this practice is necessary.



Do I get digital copies of my photos and can I use them online?
Yes and yes. You can use your photos on any social media quite freely, with very few restrictons. The only restrictions are the common ones, such as not being allowed to use the photos for profitable commercial use (if you do this then you need to purchase a commercial license) but all personal use is freely permitted.



How do I order prints?
Horrify Me no longer offers prints. Instead, you can buy your image(s) as a high resolution file and order a quality print from a suitable supplier (we have a few recommendations on the order page). To order an image file, find your image in the gallery and then click the BUY / LICENSE link.



Do you do makeup for Halloween parties or other events?
No, we get asked this quite a lot but we strictly only do makeup for our shoots and nothing else.
